W Encourager Header
Welcome to EFC-ER's Weekly Encourager. We trust that this will become a bright spot each week in your emails. The purpose of the Weekly Encourager is to provide up-to-the minute information about region-wide events, prayer requests and helpful resources from the local churches. We will close each email with a quick quote and/or survey to gather helpful resources from leaders to share with our wider Friends family.

Keeping Prayer a High Priority

We trust that every church is sharing these prayer requests within their local prayer community. Here are this week's requests:

1 - Please lift up Dave and Cindy Aufrance as they return to the States from Hong Kong. Also, for the Long family as they try to sell their house so they can take Dave and Cindy's place while they are here.

2 - Continue to pray for Pastor John Graham (Wadsworth Bethany Friends).

3 - Our deepest prayers and sympathy to Lois Wood and family in the passing of retired pastor, Roger Wood. His memorial services were held on October 28th and 29th. A copy of his obituary can be found here

4 - Please pray for Joe Kirby, who has been having heart problems, and his wife Mary as they decide which steps to take next.

5 - Praise! William Bertrand will finish the last of his radiation treatments this week. He thanks everyone for their prayers. God has been answering those prayers in remarkable ways! He hopes to return to Haiti in the next two weeks.

6 - Morningside Friends Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida has purchased property and plans to open a second campus in December. Please keep them in your prayers as they expand.

Welcoming the Legends!
The EFC-ER has started a new ring of pastoral care called the Ministry of the Legends. These "legends" are faithful, retired pastors and missionaries who are willing to continue to give their time and wisdom to our current pastors. We will share more about their ministry in the weeks to come.
Just a reminder, there is a toll-free, anonymous helpline for pastors and their families. Feel free to call 1-800-867-4011 to connect with one of Emerge's caring counselors. For information on their other services, click here or the logo above.
