W Encourager Header
Welcome to EFC-ER's Weekly Encourager. We trust that this will become a bright spot each week in your emails. The purpose of the Weekly Encourager is to provide up-to-the minute information about region-wide events, prayer requests and helpful resources from the local churches. We will close each email with a quick quote and/or survey to gather helpful resources from leaders to share with our wider Friends family.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THOSE STAYING AT THE COMFORT INN HOTEL DURING YEARLY MEETING:
It has come to our attention that the Comfort Inn has limited rooms available during Yearly Meeting. If you expect to stay there, you will need to use our code"Evangelical Friends group"  in order to ensure a room. Please call the Comfort Inn (330-492-1331) to make your reservation as quickly as possible.
<<<BEFORE YEARLY MEETING - a pressing need>>>
We're Looking for Volunteers with strong muscles and willing hearts to give their time at the WOC:
* If you live in the Canton area and are on a summer break with a few days free, please contact Julia Barber to find a way to help. Phone:330-493-1660 or email: jbarber@efcer.org

Follow Camp Gideon Summer  on their Website!

* Camp Gideon's Website  has been updated! Special thanks to Britt Hornberger for the concept and follow-through!
     * The updated site has expanded explanations for kids/campers.
     * And a great summary of benefits of each camp for parents.
Now is the time to register for summer activities!
Youth Ministry options
Please keep in mind that we will be needing teen volunteers to help with the Children's Ministry Program during Yearly Meeting. More details will be coming in the next few weeks. If you have teens who have a heart for children, save the Yearly Meeting dates (July 19-22) for them to volunteer.
 An Time-sensitive Prayer Request...
* Our Friends in Hungary request prayer this Thursday.
Tony Frei has written asking for prayer as he will be meeting with government leaders to review their church status in Hungary.
Last Friday I got an invitation letter from our Parlaiment. The Board of Justice has invited me to meet because we would like to get back our church status in Hungary. Please pray for me as I meet with them.
Thank you for your help and for your love!
God bless you!    Tony Frei, Dir. for EFC-Hungary
* Please keep retired missionary Mary Evelyn Moore in your prayers as she recovers from an unexpected heart angioplasty procedure on Tuesday, June 10th.
* Please keep Mark Hartman (Van Wert Friends) as he recovers from knee surgery.

Thank you for continuing to Pray...
Please be in prayer for churches with pastoral transitions.
How is your church getting involved in your community this summer? We'd like to start a list of ideas!
Please send your short summaries to  Donna Neff and we'll be posting those on Facebook and the website soon.
Remember... the "same old programs" that you're using
may be just the "wonderful, amazing new ministry" for others.
Let's connect & communicate effective outreaches for this summer!

Weekly Encourager for June 11, 2014

Again, Attention Prayer Warriors!

We have an opportunity:

EFC-NA Friends have initiated a weekly prayer guide for EFC-NA churches. The goal is to send focused, united prayer requests to one prayer warrior in each church who will pass on the requests to the prayer team or congregation, as appropriate. Their vision is to be praying for Friends church multiplication across America.

Contact Donna Neff to be included in this list.

UPDATE: We need to hear from more churches for this ministry - only one email request was received last week.

LET'S MOVE INTO THE DIGITAL AGE... but not leave behind those without digital skills.
Please be sure to print out copies of this newsletter for those without access to a digital copy. Printable pdf versions of this are available at our website:

Moving into the
Digital Age... means keeping current with the EFC-ER website.
* Invite your church to go to the website, bookmark it, and sign up for the Weekly Encourager. www.efcer.org

A Little Extra.... QUOTE FOR THE WEEK:
"Our salvation, thank God, depends much more on His love
of us than on our love of Him." ~ Father Andrew
"I will save them - not by bow, sword, or battle, or by horses and horsemen,
but by the Lord their God." (Hosea 1:7)

We hope you've enjoyed catching up with news from the EFC-ER office.

More information and news will be coming each week.
Please send Donna any of your suggestions and/or ideas for this weekly encouragement.
Stay tuned.... we've just begun!
