The Electrical Industry Has Changed. Has Your Executive Search Partner Kept Up?

There is a common misconception that recruiting slows down during the fourth quarter. In reality, October, November, and December can be some of the most important months for companies preparing for the year ahead.

The hiring decisions you make today are not simply about finishing 2026. They are about positioning your organization for success in 2027.

Consider the timing. If you identify a critical hiring need in October, there is still an opportunity to conduct a focused search, evaluate qualified candidates, make a hiring decision, and have that individual on board before the end of December. That provides valuable time for them to become familiar with your business, establish relationships, understand expectations, and begin contributing before the new year.

Wait until January to initiate that same search, and you could easily find yourself well into the second quarter before your new hire is fully integrated and making a meaningful impact.

In today's electrical industry, that timing can make a significant difference.

Whether your 2027 objectives include expanding into new markets, strengthening your sales organization, developing new product lines, improving manufacturing operations, adding engineering expertise, or preparing for leadership succession, having the right people in place is fundamental to achieving those goals.

And the experienced professionals capable of delivering those results are rarely sitting on the sidelines waiting for an opportunity. Most are currently employed, successful in their positions and not actively pursuing a change. Identifying, engaging, and attracting that talent requires industry expertise, established relationships, earned trust, and a deliberate recruiting process.

As you finalize your business plans and budgets for 2027, I encourage you to consider not only who you will need, but when you will need them contributing.

At Egret Consulting, we have specialized exclusively in the electrical industry since 1999. We understand the markets, technologies and talent challenges influencing your business, and we work with our clients to identify the professionals who can make a meaningful difference in their organizations.

If your 2027 plans depend on having the right people in place, now is the time to start that conversation.

Let's discuss what you want to accomplish next year and how Egret Consulting can help you get there.

“We learn from failure, not from success!”

Bram Stoker | Dracula, 1897

On Saturday, September 26th, the Egret Consulting team, along with our families, proudly participated in the Lake County, IL Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

This is a cause that means a great deal to us.

Alzheimer’s touches far too many lives. Behind every person living with this disease is a family, a circle of friends and a community experiencing it alongside them. That is why we continue to show up, year after year.

We are proud to support the Alzheimer's Association®, not only by participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, but also through our charitable giving. Each year, Egret Consulting contributes a portion of our earnings to charitable organizations on behalf of our client partners.

Saturday was about more than walking. It was about being together as a team and as families. It was about remembering those we have lost, supporting those who are living with dementia and Alzheimer’s today and standing beside the families and caregivers who experience the impact of this disease every day.

We were proud to be there. And we will continue to walk with the hope that someday, there will be a world without Alzheimer’s.
