At the November meeting of the Cedar Rapids Metro chapter of 100+ Men Who Care the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy was selected as the recipient of their fourth quarter contributions. 100+ Men Who Care meet four times each year. Members learn about three area charities at each meeting and select one to receive the combined contributions of members, making an immediate impact on the local community. EIAA is honored to have been selected and the funds received will have an immediate and direct impact on the students we serve, both in the After School Arts Enrichment Program and at our Music and Arts Studios. On January 27th, at Groundswell Youth Arts Venue, our Music and Arts Studios bands rocked the house! With over 8o in attendance cheering them on, they were inspired. We are filled with awe at their courage, growth and talent! Thanks for supporting EIAA and creating moments like this in the lives of our youth!

High School Juried Art Show
Many supporters of these students turned out for a reception and awards ceremony, hosted by Heather Wagner, at our first Juried Art Show, on February 2nd, at the Music and Arts Studios Student Gallery. Congratulations to all who submitted and took the next step on the road to becoming an artist, sharing your work with the community! The exhibit is open during our regular business hours until February 28th.

Join us for a two-day workshop creating beautiful and unique
canvas zip-up pouches with local artist Laura Smith!

ALCOHOL INKS
Join professional, local artist Pat Lammers as she teaches you how to work with alcohol inks and polypropylene papers to make beautiful, vibrant art pieces.
Adults only. Feel free to bring drinks, alcohol and snacks.

EIAA programs ensure that youth, seniors and individuals with a wide variety of needs and abilities have access to high quality arts programming at little to NO COST.
You can help ensure the availability of these programs in 2017, and for many years to come, by accepting our $10 challenge.
Please pledge, to EIAA, a minimum of $10 each month for the next 12 months to help ensure arts opportunities for others in our community.
