EIMA Attends ROCKWOOL’s ROCKonnect Educational Event: Advancing Fire Safety and Compliance in EIFS Applications in NYC

EIMA was pleased to attend ROCKWOOL North America’s recent ROCKonnect event on October 29th at the AIA Center for Architecture in New York City. This event brought together industry professionals to address evolving building codes and the increasing need for non-combustible solutions in construction in the New York City market. ROCKWOOL highlighted the role of stone wool in compliance with fire-blocking provisions in the 2022 New York City Building Code, focusing on fire safety and the integration of non-combustible materials in exterior wall coverings with combustible components.


Key insights were shared on Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS), including practical guidance on incorporating stone wool into EIFS for enhanced safety, energy efficiency, and performance in both residential and commercial projects. Attendees also benefited from live demonstrations of wet wall applications and had the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

EIFS Excellence Awards Program Unveils New Judging Criteria

The competition for the prestigious 2024 EIFS Excellence Awards is underway! Previously known as the EIFS Hero Awards, this esteemed program highlights outstanding projects within the EIFS industry across various building categories.


EIMA is excited to announce new, formalized judging criteria as part of the program's ongoing enhancements. Each project will undergo a detailed evaluation based on a comprehensive set of standards to ensure that every aspect of the EIFS project is thoroughly reviewed. The judging criteria are:


·      Aesthetic Appeal and Design Integration - ​25% of overall score

·      Innovation and Creativity - 25% of overall score

·      Challenges and Resolutions - 20% overall score

·      Functionality and Performance - 20% overall score

·      Submission Presentation - 10% of overall score


The evolution of the awards program is a testament to the dedicated efforts of EIMA's Promotion Working Group and Awards Task Force, whose innovative ideas and hard work have significantly shaped its development.

Inaugural Meeting of EIMA's EPA Grant Working Group on November 19th in Atlanta

EIMA is excited to announce that the inaugural meeting of the EPA Grant Working Group will take place on November 19, 2024, in Atlanta during EIMA's Fall Board and Working Groups Conference. This Working Group will play a vital role in guiding the strategic direction of the grant, overseeing the implementation of key initiatives, and ensuring that project goals are met. Bringing together leading experts and stakeholders from across the EIFS industry, this meeting represents a major step in solidifying the partnership between EIMA and the EPA while laying the groundwork for the successful completion of the grant objectives.
