Students can go to their account using their S-ID number and laptop password. Once there, students are able to download their schedule to save or can simply take a picture on their phone! They will see a colorful schedule, such as the example below. Please note that lunch is 11:00a - 12:00p so that class period appears longer.

Week 1 Experience - Feedback Survey
We made it through the first week of virtual learning! Congratulations! Other than the district wide HUB and PowerSchool outages at the beginning of the week, things have been relatively smooth for Energy. But, we also know there are always things that we can improve upon. We invite all parents to take this Feedback Survey so that we can continue to improve our program.

Open House - Coming Soon!
Next week please join us for our (virtual) Open House! This is a great opportunity for families to connect with our teachers and staff.

This event will work best from your child's laptop as we will use Microsoft Teams for the event. The main session will begin at 6:00p on Thursday, September 17th. You can access the main session in the link below and links for specific sessions will be released prior to the event. If you are not able to join us, please reach out to your child's teachers for the recording that you can view afterwards.

Please log in 10 minutes early so you can trouble shoot if there are technical issues.

Alumni Check In - Where Are They Now?
An exciting new component of our newsletter is our Alumni Check In. We are using this to showcase what students are up to in life after Energy! We work hard to set our students up for success in all realms of life and are proud to share where they are now! If you would like to nominate an alumni or tell us what you're up to, use the link at the bottom of this newsletter or email Jillian.Estrella@houstonisd.org.
Name: Elliot Salas
Class of: 2020
Updates:

What have you been up to?: "I am studying at Syracuse University and majoring in Electrical Engineering. I had to quarantine at the school so I had to arrive two weeks prior move in dates. I now know a whole lot about my school and have joined multiple clubs, like Hispanics in Engineering and a Formula SAE club. My next steps are to acquire an internship for the summer and save money for an off-campus housing."

Do you have any words of advice for current or future EIHS students?: "As a senior, while focusing on college applications, you should try to finish your personal statement as soon as possible! After then, (the most IMPORTANT part) is focus on scholarships. Paying for college is one thing, but preparing and getting there is another."

How has EIHS prepared you for your future?: "Not everyone in college is as tech savvy as Energy kids. (Unless you’re at MIT/UT :b) many teachers and kids have a hard time with zoom and being productive with their laptops. Energy taught us how to handle our work and prepared us for this COVID season of school where everything is online."
