9 Months Into ERC Claim Processing Moratorium - Still A Waiting Game

In September 2023, the IRS announced a moratorium on the processing of new employee retention credit (ERC) claims because of what it said was rampant fraud. That moratorium has not stopped the filing of new claims, and the IRS has not been able to process all the claims filed before the moratorium. New Hire Spotlight: Tiago Annes

EJC welcomes Tiago Annes to the team as a Tax Supervisor. Tiago has over 9 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in the financial, manufacturing and distribution, and construction industries. Prior to working at EJC, Tiago worked at a national public accounting firm, providing tax and consulting services to his clients. Tiago is an IRS Enrolled Agent, an active member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPAs), and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Salem State University with a Minor in Economics.

ABC’s Construction Backlog Indicator Inches Lower in May, Contractors Remain Confident


ABC produces the Construction Backlog Indicator, the only economic indicator that reflects the amount of work that will be performed by commercial and industrial construction contractors in the months ahead, and the Construction Confidence Index, a diffusion index that signals construction contractors’ expectations for sales, profit margins and staffing levels.
