Welcome Back to the 2022-2023
ESOL Year of Learning for all
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade Students!
Welcome back to a wonderful new school year at Buford Academy! Our students have returned from Summer break ready to learn. We have welcomed First Graders into our ESOL family and also are eager to welcome brand new ESOL students to BA of First, Second, and Third grades. We are excited to serve the students in our program this year whose languages include Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Punjabi, Arabic, Korean, Russian, Romanian, Gujarati, and Haitian Creole. Your teachers for ESOL this year include Mrs. Barfield, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Corbett, and Mrs. Johnson. We will be using Talking Points to communicate with our parents again this year. Please either download the app, or you can just receive text messages via your phone number. You will be receiving information to initiate contact in the near future. We will also be using the Reading Eggs/Reading Express program this year for ESOL students. Your child has received their login information for this school year and can access this program to use at home as well. We are looking forward to a great year of learning as we will again focus on the four areas of language instruction: Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing.

Students' READING EGGS login information will be coming home for your child's use. The kids truly enjoy learning through this app and we will be using it in ESOL class often.

Your child's ESOL teacher will be reaching out to you through Talking Points. Please look for a text message from your child's ESOL teacher in the days ahead. We encourage you to use this app to communicate your ESOL needs with your child's teacher.
