2023-2024 Parent Survey
Thank you, everyone who participated in our parent survey for last year's families. I wanted to share with you some of the results we saw from the surveys, and share a couple of things we will be striving towards this year.
Overall parent satisfaction (those who answered "Satisfied" or "Very Satisfied") with our program here at St. John's ELC was 90.3%.
When asked if parents felt their child was prepared for the next step in their learning experience, 80.6% answered "Yes," and 19.4% answered "Somewhat."
Some of the things you suggested for improvement include more visibility of leadership, parent education oppotunities specifically for behavior, and welcoming parents into our classrooms more frequently. These are items that are important to us, and we will continue to strive to improve in these areas to create the best learning environment for your precious and dearly loved children.

What are we doing with this feedback?
All of our lead teachers send out weekly newletters, which is the easiest way for teachers to communicate. Please make sure to read those emails, as they contain some important information on a weekly basis.
We plan to train our teachers, who are not completely comfortable with Tadpoles, so they know how to utilize it appropriately. That way they can provide some more day-to-day communication through the app. Our goal is that, by January, we will be sending a minimum of one photo or video to you via Tadpoles each day. Throughout the day, our teachers are busy interacting with students and therefore, there may be days when they miss sending photos or videos home. It will take a little time to get into the new habit of making sure stuff is being sent every day, but we will get there.

What are we doing with this feedback?
We would love for you to visit your child's classroom more. Colorado State Licensing regulations require all volunteers in our classrooms to have all 3 of the background checks that are expected of employees (CBI, FBI, TRAILS). These 3 background checks cost about $90 total per person. If you want to regularly volunteer, we ask that you pay the $90 to cover those expenses.
Now, we understand that many of you do not want to pay $90 to become a regular volunteer. With that, our Parent Engagement Coordinator and our teaching/administrative teams are trying to create more opportunities for you to visit the classroom. This may include classroom parties, secret readers, and other special events or activities throughout the year. More communication about these things will be given to you as these opportunities approach.

We will be doing our Fall Festival on Friday, October 18th after school. The ELC will be closing at 4:30pm that day, to allow for everyone to attend the event. The Fall Festival is for ELC, K-8, and church families. There will be food trucks and a pumpkin patch, and I think there will even be a petting zoo. This will be a fun opportunity to gather with other families from the St. John's community, as well as some of the teachers and church staff we have on our team. We'll see you there!

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." And He who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new."

Miss Daisy - ELC Office Administrator
Hello! My name is Daisy Farhat and I work in the ELC office on Mondays and Wednesdays. I also manage the St. John's Church website and app as well as the Renewal Church website. I have two daughters in high school who graduated from St. John's School and I have two sons who are in 5th grade and Pre-Kindergarten here at St. John's School and ELC. My family moved to Denver in 2018 from Oregon, where my husband, Andrew, was a pastor at a church there for nine years. He is now the lead pastor here at St. John's!
I grew up in Centennial, CO, and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2003, with a degree in English Literature. After that, I got certified to teach English as a Foreign Language at Seattle University. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, hiking, and design work.
Many of you have probably gotten emails from me requesting health forms and enrollment information, but my favorite part of working at St. John's is the loving and supportive culture that our amazing staff and parents bring into the building each day. I helped out with picture day a few weeks ago, and seeing each one of your child's faces as they posed and smiled brought such joy to my heart! Please stop into the office any time to say hello!

You may also donate any amount. Thank you for your support!
Volunteer: Volunteers are needed to help with pie making; many slots are available Thursday/Friday/Saturday, September 26, 27 & 28 or Thursday/Friday/Saturday, October 3, 4, & 5. This is a great thing to do as family (approx. ages 10 and up) or with your Life Group!
