Updated Parent Handbook
We just published the new ELC Parent Handbook for the 23/24 school year. Since the one you agreed to when you enrolled last winter/spring is now outdated, we will need to have all families sign for the new handbook. Please fill out and sign the attached signature page and return to the ELC office, to your child's teacher, or email to [email protected]Only one form is needed per family!

Playground Pick-Up

Please enter the building only through the front school entrance, where you have key card access. We have given every ELC household key cards to help keep our building, and everyone inside it, secure. Your key cards give you access to the front school doors, the ELC entrance doors, and the main school hallway entrance doors. They will not work on any other entrances in the building. Your key cards will only give you access to the building during drop-off, which is 7:30-8:45am, and pick-up, which is 3:15-5:30pm. These are coded in a way that they will not work outside of those times.

Preschool and Pre-K families, please do not use the side gate to enter the playground. This gate is for Extended Care families only. The Extended Care staff does not know who you are, so they should not be letting you in through the gate. We are trying to keep the building, and everyone inside, secure. Even if your child is outside on the Preschool/Pre-K playground, please still enter through the main school entrance to pick up your child. This will help our Extended Care team feel more comfortable being out on the playground in the afternoon.

Additionally, when you come to pick your child up from the Preschool/Pre-K playground, make sure you are always shutting the playground gate, after you walk through it. Too often the gate is being left open, allowing students to run freely out of the playground. We want our kids to stay safely in the playground, until they are safely walking out of the playground with you, and one of the best ways to do that is to keep the gate shut.

Thank you for your help with keeping your children and our teachers safe!

"The Lord is my strength and my shield;

    my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.

My heart leaps for joy,

    and with my song I praise Him.

The Lord is the strength of His people,

    a fortress of salvation for His anointed one."

-Psalm 28:7-8

9:00am to 2:00pm
Over the past several months, St. John's has been offered a variety of ways to learn more about keeping our children safe.  We now have the opportunity to come together as a community to learn more about how we can collectively work to keep all our children safe. This is a must-attend workshop for people with children of all ages!  You can attend this via Zoom at home, or together via Zoom at St. John's. Lunch and childcare will be provided for those who attend in-person.

We will learn: what makes children vulnerable, body-safety rules, and how you can talk about your child's body safety with teachers, coaches, nannies, family members, faith leaders, and other parents.

The PTO would like to have volunteers bring the teachers snacks and cool drinks every other Friday morning. We will put the snacks and drinks out for the teachers, if you will bring them at drop-off or pick-up.

Please, no snacks containing nuts, as we want to be cautious of allergies in the ELC. If you bring individually packaged items, it makes it easier for the teachers to grab snacks and go back to their classrooms.

Please see the link below to sign-up for upcoming dates. Thank you all so very much for bringing special treats! It is so appreciated!
