Updated Parent Handbook
We just published the new ELC Parent Handbook for the 23/24 school year. Since the one you agreed to when you enrolled last winter/spring is now outdated, we will need to have all families sign for the new handbook. Please fill out and sign the attached signature page and return to the ELC office, to your child's teacher, or email to daisy.farhat@sjdenver.org. Only one form is needed per family!
ELC Picture Days
All ELC students will take individual pictures on September 20 (M-F and M/W/F students) & September 21 (T/Th students). Pictures will be taken by a professional photographer and ordering will be online. We will send you an online link when pictures are ready to be ordered.
Parking Lot Safety
When parking in the St. John's parking lot, please do your best to leave nothing of value, nor items visible, that could attract thieves to break into your cars. There have been a couple reported break-ins recently, and we would hate for you to experience that too. Thank you for helping ensure the security of our campus.
The ELC is CLOSED Monday, September 4th, for Labor Day. We hope you enjoy your long holiday weekend!

PTO Kick-Off Meeting

September 5th at 8:15 am in the Community Room

We would love to see you at our kick-off meeting for the 2023-2024 school year. All St. John's parents are part of the PTO and we are so grateful for the wonderful community it creates for our teachers, students, and parents alike. If you are unable to make it to the meeting, you can still check out the following sign-up to see the many opportunities for getting connected and serving here at St. John's. The sign-up includes 13 tabs with numerous options to choose where and how you would like to get involved. We are so excited for another great year!
Join us for coffee and a light breakfast while you get to know and connect with other SJ women!
This is a great way to connect with women who support each other through their everyday lives while studying God's Word together.
Saturday
September 30, 2023
9:00am to 2:00pm
Over the past several months, St. John's has been offered a variety of ways to learn more about keeping our children safe. We now have the opportunity to come together as a community to learn more about how we can collectively work to keep all our children safe. This is a must-attend workshop for people with children of all ages! You can attend this via Zoom at home, or together via Zoom at St. John's. Lunch and childcare will be provided for those who attend in-person.

We will learn: what makes children vulnerable, body-safety rules, and how you can talk about your child's body safety with teachers, coaches, nannies, family members, faith leaders, and other parents.
Registration is $59 with a discounted early bird price of $20 for the first 45 registrants
In the ELC, we are hiring Assistant Teachers/Staff Aides, who will be responsible for assisting in the supervision of children ages 18 months to 5 years old. Applicants must be 18+ years of age. We are hiring both full-time and part-time positions. Shift hours could be any time between 6:30am and 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. Pay starts at $18.85 per hour, and can increase based on education and experience.
Additionally, we are seeking a full-time Early Childhood Teacher, who will be responsible for leading and supervising one of our Pre-K classrooms. Applicants must be 21+ years of age, with current Early Childhood Teacher Credentials. Shift hours could be any time between 6:30am and 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. This is a salaried position and pay varies based on education and experience.

Please send your resume and references for either position to Abi Newell if interested. Job descriptions are included below.
St. John's is also looking to hire a full-time Day Porter who is adept at learning new skills, is able to follow a schedule, and has strong communication skills. This person will be working for the Church, School, and ELC. Please send your resume and availability to interview to Christy Hitchcock.
Sign Up for ELC Staff Snacks
The PTO would like to have volunteers bring the teachers snacks and cool drinks every other Friday morning. We will put the snacks and drinks out for the teachers, if you will bring them at drop-off or pick-up.

Please, no snacks containing nuts, as we want to be cautious of allergies in the ELC. If you bring individually packaged items, it makes it easier for the teachers to grab snacks and go back to their classrooms.

Please see the link below to sign-up for upcoming dates. Thank you all so very much for bringing special treats! It is so appreciated!
