Parenting Safe Children
Join us for the Parenting Safe Children workshop, hosted at St. John's on September 30th. The Parenting Safe Children Workshop mission is to educate adults to keep children safe from sex abuse by minimizing risk in their environments. That's daunting to think about, but the workshop tells us that it's up to us as adults, not children, to keep them safe. The first part of the workshop is an overview of how sex abuse happens with a deep dive around grooming, as well as an explanation of age appropriate sex behavior. Part two covers body safety rules. The third part is about accountability and developing a prevention team; this involves practice.

This workshop will provide all of us who attend a language we can collectively use in play dates and at school, helping us create an even stronger and safer school community. Because of a generous grant, St. John's is able to offer this workshop at a fraction of the regular cost. You can register for just $20 per person (for the first 45 tickets), and the school will offer complimentary onsite childcare and lunch.

Saturday
September 30, 2023
9:00am to 2:00pm
Over the past several months, St. John's has been offered a variety of ways to learn more about keeping our children safe. We now have the opportunity to come together as a community to learn more about how we can collectively work to keep all our children safe. This is a must-attend workshop for people with children of all ages! You can attend this via Zoom at home, or together via Zoom at St. John's. Lunch and childcare will be provided for those who attend in-person.

We will learn: what makes children vulnerable, body-safety rules, and how you can talk about your child's body safety with teachers, coaches, nannies, family members, faith leaders, and other parents.
Registration is $59 with a discounted early bird price of $20 for the first 45 registrants

Additionally, we are seeking a full-time Early Childhood Teacher, who will be responsible for leading and supervising one of our Pre-K classrooms. St. John's is also looking to hire a full-time Day Porter who is adept at learning new skills, is able to follow a schedule, and has strong communication skills. This person will be working for the Church, School, and ELC. Please send your resume and availability to interview to Christy Hitchcock.
Sign Up for ELC Staff Snacks
The PTO would like to have volunteers bring the teachers snacks and cool drinks every other Friday morning. We will put the snacks and drinks out for the teachers, if you will bring them at drop-off or pick-up.

Please, no snacks containing nuts, as we want to be cautious of allergies in the ELC. If you bring individually packaged items, it makes it easier for the teachers to grab snacks and go back to their classrooms.

Please see the link below to sign-up for upcoming dates. Thank you all so very much for bringing special treats! It is so appreciated!
