ELVIS OPENS WITH AN ADVANCE SCREENING THURSDAY, JUNE 23RD AT YOUR SALEM CINEMA!
George Michael Freedom Uncut ONE NIGHT ONLY!
Wednesday, June 22nd at 7PM • $15 in advance or $18 day of the event
GEORGE MICHAEL FREEDOM UNCUT focuses on the formative period in the late Grammy Award winner's life and career, leading up to and following the making of his acclaimed, best-selling album Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 and his subsequent, infamous High Court battle with his record label that followed, while also becoming poignantly personal about the death of his first love, Anselmo Feleppa. Filmed before Michael's untimely passing, the documentary is narrated by the singer, who was heavily involved in the making of the film that serves as his final work.

The film features George's incredible, unseen archival and private home-footage, giving viewers a first-person account of this dramatic period in his life, revealing how he became one of the most influential recording artists of all time, who alone fought a corner for all artists by challenging the standard recording contract helping to rewrite the rules of the music industry. He talks about why he stepped out of the lime light and turned his back on celebrity.

The feature documentary includes the original five supermodels from Oscar-nominated director David Fincher's Freedom! '90 video – Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz and Linda Evangelista – who come together for the first time to discuss their experience on the iconic music video. The film also features interviews with some of Michael's most famous friends and music legends, including Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson, Tracey Emin, Liam Gallagher, Mary J. Blige, Jean Paul Gaultier, James Corden and Tony Bennett.

OPENING WITH AN ADVANCE SCREENING THURSDAY AT YOUR SALEM CINEMA!
The rock biopic genre gets all shook up in ELVIS, with Baz Luhrmann's dazzling energy and style perfectly complemented by Austin Butler's outstanding lead performance!
"A fizzy, delirious, impishly energized, compulsively watchable fever dream – a spangly pinwheel of a movie that converts the Elvis saga we all carry around in our heads into a lavishly staged biopic-as-pop-opera." - Owen Gleiberman, Variety

Exploring the life and music of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler) as seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks), ELVIS is a sumptuous, vibrant and electric tribute to the iconic performer. The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley's rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. With swagger to spare, Butler puts a dynamic, indelible stamp on one of the 20th century's brightest supernovas. We simply can't help falling in love.

The King's wife, daughter and granddaughter – Priscilla, Lisa Marie and Riley Keough – have all spoken out in praise of the way Butler and Luhrmann told Elvis' story, and how they appreciate the film as a new way to remember the late star.

OPENING FRIDAY AT YOUR SALEM CINEMA!
Led by a stellar performance from Mark Rylance, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPEN turns a stranger-than-fiction true story into crowd-pleasing entertainment!
"Phantom is about something more than an obscure British folk hero... It’s a story about following your passion, not because of the heights this path will take you to, but because it makes you happy." - Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post

Winning, warm and every bit as touching as it is funny, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPEN tells the heartwarming true story of Maurice Flitcroft (Mark Rylance in an unassuming, twinkly-eyed performance), a dreamer brimming with unrelenting optimism. This humble crane operator from Barrow-in-Furness managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship despite having never played a round of golf before. Following the 1976 Open, the rules were changed to prevent Flitcroft from attempting to enter again, but undeterred, he regularly attempted to enter in disguise, under pseudonyms. It is a breezy, delightful and whimsical whale of a tale about fortitude, family, love, the importance of pursuing your dreams and the refusal to either give up or give in!

As immersive and intense as its camerawork and pulsating score, A CHIARA explores the coming-of-age of a teenage girl who sets out in relentless pursuit of clarity on family and community values.
"Carpignano delivers a fascinating take and perspective in familiar territory, focusing on how a crime family’s fallout affects a young girl’s sense of self." - Radheyan Simonpillal, NOW Toronto

A fierce coming-of-age story about the loss of innocence, A CHIARA is a taut, provocative drama following a teen girl whose life unwinds upon discovering her father may be a mafia figure. One night, the Guerrasio family and friends gather for a celebration, and the close-knit family are in top form. However, everything changes the next day when the father disappears. 15 year-old Chiara (Swamy Rotolo), unconvinced by the cover story, starts to investigate and as she gets closer to the truth, she is forced to decide what kind of future she wants for herself. This intelligent, compelling tale presents in stark and haunting ways how a family can be destroyed by secrets and lies, and how a child caught in the crossfire can try to heal from the trauma.

A happy-go-lucky story about found family, BRIAN AND CHARLES is a delightfully goofy, sweet-natured charmer!
"There’s some Frankenstein and some Wallace and Gromit and some that is entirely Brian and Charles’s own; the mockumentary-style comedy, directed by Jim Archer, is sweet, funny, weird, and heartwarming." - Alissa Wilkinson, Vox

A delightful celebration of inventiveness and ingenuity, BRIAN AND CHARLES is an entertainingly funny film with a huge heart. Something of an outcast, Brian lives alone in a remote village in the countryside and whimsically spends his spare time inventing things out of unique found objects. Without friends or family to rely on, Brian decides to build a robot as a companion to help while away the hours. Charles is not only Brian's most successful invention, but he appears to have a personality all his own and quickly becomes Brian's best friend, curing his loneliness and opening Brian's eyes to a new way of living. Charles also creates more problems than Brian bargained for, and the timid inventor has to face-up to several issues in his life. This disarmingly humorous tale that tickles the ribs and tugs at the heartstrings is a feel-good comedy that is not just about a 7 foot tall robot that loves cabbage, but about friendship, love and letting go. The world will soon fall in love with Brian and Charles...you will, too!

Stay through the end credits. You'll thank us later!

"For those who’ve poshed it up with the Crawleys since the very start, this is an affectionate, escapist hug of a movie — like being wrapped in a doily." - James Dyer, Empire Magazine

Settle in for another delightfully charming whiff of British scandal!
