CAROL CONNORS
At age 18, Carol Connors wrote the song Hey Little Cobra for Carroll Shelby. It was a number one hit in the USA. Shelby gave her a Cobra engine #2544 which is worth $1.5 million dollars today. That was 60 years ago.
At age 161/2 she was the voice of the Phil Spector group, The Teddy Bears, and sang the number one hit in the world, To Know Him is to Love Him.
In 1976, Carol co-wrote the theme song for Rocky, Gonna Fly Now. This was her first Oscar nomination, and the rest is history. But that was just the beginning! She continued to write songs for top movies like Looking for Mr. Goodbar, The Earthling, Walt Disney's The Rescuers, her second nomination, and more.
