ConocoPhillips Hosts Girls Talk Tech for EMERGE Female Students
EMERGE partnered with ConocoPhillips to host Girls Talk Tech, a summer program intended to inspire a new generation of young women interested in careers in technology. EMERGE female high school students had the opportunity to connect with ConocoPhillips female engineers, learn about different STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) pathways, and access various resources to pursue STEM-related careers. We are grateful for our partnerships with amazing companies like ConocoPhillips who help empower our students to dream big! You can read more about the program here.
Virtual College Tours Connect Students to Top Colleges
EMERGE virtually connected nearly 400 rising high school seniors with 36 of the most selective colleges and universities across the nation to expose the students to a variety of schools and to help identify the best college fits. Participating schools included Columbia University, University of Chicago, Cornell University, Northwestern University, and Brandeis University, among many others. Each EMERGE student connected with college admissions experts from four top-tier colleges, reflected on what "college fit" meant for their values and interests, and practiced vulnerability in sharing their social identities alongside a cohort of EMERGE peers from all five of our district partners.
