Thanks to the many residents who took the time to complete the survey that opened on August 6 with our last newsletter. The results will be reported in a newsletter after the survey has closed. The response so far has been impressive, but not overwhelming.
When dealing with land use issues, numbers count. That's because the electeds who are the members of Town boards notice the strength of community views on issues before them. (Of course, their decisions still have to be made based on applicable legal standards.) So it follows: the greater the number of residents who take the survey, the greater its impact will be on the board members who must rule on the applications.
So, if you've just gotten back from vacation, or just finished a hectic period, or for whatever other reason have not completed the survey–we know there are many possible reasons--please take the survey now. Another way to have more residents take the survey is for you to share this newsletter with friends. Ask them to take it too. Or post on social media to encourage others to take it. Land use decisions affect all of us. The Town will be interested in their opinions too, as well as in factors which influence their opinions, which are also covered in the survey.
