Pursuant to Act 73 of 2021, which was signed into law today, the EMS regulatory and statutory suspensions that were previously in effect will remain in effect. Specifically, the following regulatory and statutory exceptions remain in effect:

1. EMSIB 2020-09 Out of State EMS Agencies

2. EMSIB 2020-11 Level I Staffing Exceptions for Licensed EMS Vehicles

3. EMSIB 2020-20 Use of Out of State EMS Personnel

a. While this exception remains in place, the Bureau strongly recommends that any out of state provider regularly practicing within Pennsylvania begin the certification by endorsement process IMMEDIATELY.

While the passage of Act 73 removes the immediate impetus and need for EMSIB 2021-12 Additional Exceptions Under Act 17 of 2020 the Bureau is leaving that guidance in place to allow BLS ambulance agencies the ability to plan and anticipate their operations through the previously stated deadline of 00:01 on July 1, 2022.
