Task force inches closer to EMS funding proposal

Idaho law does not currently deem emergency medical services as essential, but a task force and committee are examining how the state could support EMS in rural areas.


Recommendations next session could include creating an EMS sustainability fund with money appropriated by the legislature and distributed through the counties as local grants.

Senate reaches threshold to call special session on presidential primary; next steps up to House

For lawmakers to convene a session under the constitutional amendment approved by voters last fall, 60% of each chamber must sign onto a petition outlining the topic.


“You’ve got these different factions that are split up amongst the House members,” Speaker Mike Moyle, R-Star, told Idaho Reports. “There’s twice as many of us, so it’s a little harder to get to sixty percent.”

Terms officially end for recalled West Bonner trustees

Idaho Education News: There wasn’t an audible sigh of relief in the room but those attending Thursday’s canvassing meeting looked pleased that the recall election of two West Bonner school board trustees was officially over.


“Normally, we don’t have anybody come to these so I thank you all for coming — this is unusual,” said Bonner County Clerk Mike Rosedale.
