  • Large- and small-scale solar PV and solar thermal installations provided 19% of California’s net electricity generation. The largest solar installations in the world are in the Central Valley. BHE Renewables in Kern County tops the list.

  • California's total energy consumption is second-highest in the nation. The Tehachapi Storage Project is one of the largest battery storage projects in the world with 8MW of storage and 32MW of energy capability.
RESOURCES FOR ENERGY
Central Valley is an energy leader in the nation with the largest Wind Farm, largest Solar installation, and a leading area for oil production. State and local incentives abound in all 8 Central Valley counties.
The San Joaquin Valley’s growing population and expanding economy will require increased supplies of reliable, diverse, clean energy. This means producing more electricity and fuel in the Valley from renewable energy resources such as solar, wind and biomass.
