Gretchen S. Gross Memorial Endowment Fund
To commemorate the life and legacy of Gretchen S. Gross, campers at Camp Centerland experienced the first ever Gretchen Gross Awesomesauce Day! She was a powerful force in our community who had a deep passion for photography, early childhood education, and our beloved camp. Throughout the day, campers tied-dyed shirts, took their own photos, enjoyed ice cream from Andersons, played in bounce houses, and released butterflies.

At night, we welcomed over 120 friends and family members to witness the dedication of a new fireplace in the Gretchen S. Gross Omanut Center, share memories and announced the launch of the Gretchen S. Gross Memorial Endowment Fund that will provide scholarships and photography programs to youth at the JCC.

It was a heartfelt evening for everyone.

To support the endowment, go to this link, select restrict gift, and make a contribution in honor of Gretchen. https://www.jccbuffalo.org/donate/

NEWS AT THE JRT
For 2,000 years, Jews have been diasporic people, melding with communities and cultures across the globe. Sometimes Jews fit on the fringes; many times, they were visionaries. This unique perspective has propelled diverse Jewish contributions throughout the arts.

For 20 years, Jewish Repertory Theatre has showcased the vibrance that Jewish culture has imprinted on our world. From its humble beginnings as a theater company without a home to the creation of The Robert and Maxine Seller Theater in 2011, JRT has become an integral part of the WNY theater community. For this special anniversary season, we continue to celebrate the legacy of Jewish storytelling with three beloved plays. Alongside these productions, we look forward to presenting our JRT20 celebration, book clubs, panel discussions, and our first-ever stage-to-screen series.

This season, we not only celebrate twenty years of JRT but also the legacy of Co-founder and Artistic Director Saul Elkin. Saul’s work has been integral in developing not just Jewish theater in our community but the development and growth of theater all over Western New York, including the founding of Shakespeare in Delaware Park and his many years serving as Chair of the UB Theater Department.
