There is a nationwide shortage of designated mechanic examiners (DME’s) which is creating challenges for schools to get approval to administer exams or to create new written testing sites. Because of this shortage, many graduates are facing significant delays in scheduling their oral and practical exam, sometimes even requiring traveling out of state to secure an appointment spot. A&P schools are expressing their dissatisfaction with PSI services, stating that the search function for testing sites is difficult to use and partially inaccurate.
