Domestic Violence Awareness Month
(DVAM)
Purple Thursday
Go Purple with CCS!

This October, Center for Community Solutions joins local, state, and national movements to increase awareness surrounding relationship violence. This violence does not discriminate, and touches each and every one of us. There are many ways to drive awareness, take action, and create social change.

Join us this Thursday, October 24, for Purple Thursday -- a day to honor and support survivors of domestic violence. CCS invites YOU to join the movement by wearing purple on the 24th and help champion an end to this violence.

Here's how to get involved:
  • Tell Us Why. Download your own "I Stand Up Against Domestic Violence" graphic and tell us why you're going purple with CCS. Graphic is available to download in both English and Spanish

  • Get Social With Us! Post a photo of you and your friends/family/colleagues wearing purple and tag CCS on Facebook (@centerforcommunitysolutions), Instagram and Twitter (@ccs_sd). Don't forget the #hashtags! Suggestions include: #DVAM #PurpleThursday #StartTheConvo #CCSSD

  • Share Your Photos. You may also email photos to shancock@ccssd.org to be included in CCS' social media posts promoting Purple Thursday. Please submit photos to Sheila Hancock by 12:00 PM on the 24th for inclusion.
CCS Holiday Giving Program
It's that time of year again. The time to connect our community of supporters with the survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault that we serve, through Center for Community Solutions' annual holiday giving program.

Bridging Hearts is a very special program that matches CCS' clients with caring individuals and corporations, who wish to create a holiday season full of love, joy, and support for survivors and their families.

Through the generosity of so many who participated in last year's Bridging Hearts, we were able to provide local families with gifts and warm holiday experiences they would not have received otherwise. You can read about some of those inspiring moments here:  Bridging Hearts Testimonials

Please help us continue the tradition of creating a meaningful holiday season for our clients.  Click here for  more information on the holiday giving program, including ways to contribute. If you would like to donate, please complete the Sign-Up form (linked) and return to Sheila Hancock at shancock@ccssd.org by November 18th.
20th Annual Tea & Tonic
CCS held our annual Tea & Tonic event on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar. It was a lovely afternoon, with more than 300 business partners and community supporters gathering to raise awareness and funds for CCS. The featured guest speaker was Zainab Salbi -- humanitarian, bestselling author and TV host. We are grateful to our generous sponsors and supporters, who helped us raise more than $220,000 for the programs that serve survivors.  Click here to view photos from the event!
