Celebrate the 11th Annual National Apprenticeship Day on April 30 with US!

Join Employ Prince George’s Apprenticeship Innovation Program in celebrating apprenticeship programs that unite businesses, communities, and educators. This day sheds light on the impact of apprenticeships in developing a skilled workforce and offers job seekers immediate employment, skill enhancement, and higher wages.

Meet Zevon Bugg, a Capitol Heights, MD native whose life transformed through Employ Prince George’s Apprenticeship Innovation Program.

After completing our line cook pre-apprenticeship, Zevon landed a role at Krab King in Upper Marlboro, MD in April 2023. He honed his skills in customer service, cooking, and professional expertise, focusing on his passion for the Restaurant & Private Chef industry. Zevon's hard work led him to FrankieMae Kitchen, where he excelled under Chef Frankie's mentorship. His talent earned him a spot on the "Traveling Chef" list, taking him to Los Angeles for a memorable experience at Megan Thee Stallion's wedding on September 24, 2023. As Zevon progresses in his career, promising opportunities for prestigious kitchen roles await him. We are proud to support his journey and equip him for success.

On Thursday, March 27, our YCC team had the pleasure of supporting the Dr. Henry Wise PeerForward team during their “Anything but College” Fair—a powerful event created to introduce students to alternative postsecondary pathways beyond the traditional college route.


We’re especially proud of the collaboration between the Peer Leaders, the National Honor Society, and our very own Youth Career Connections program. By providing funding and guidance, YCC empowered students to take the lead in planning and executing the event, helping turn their vision into a reality.


Thank you to Dr. Henry Wise High School for your partnership and commitment to student success. Together, we’re showing youth that there’s more than one path to a bright future.
