This September, Employ Prince George’s is celebrating National Workforce Development Professionals Month by recognizing the people, programs, and partnerships turning opportunity into impact across Prince George’s County.

Every day, EPG’s workforce professionals help residents build in-demand skills, access career opportunities, and overcome barriers to employment. Through career services, youth development, occupational training, apprenticeships, and reentry programs, our teams are creating pathways to economic mobility while helping employers build a stronger workforce.

We’re proud to recognize our dedicated leadership and staff, along with the training providers, employers, and community partners who make this work possible.

Together, we’re strengthening our workforce, expanding opportunity, and building a brighter future for Prince George’s County.

Celebrating Connection, Community & County Pride at MACo 2026

The 2026 MACo Prince George’s County Reception was a wonderful celebration of the people, partnerships, and shared commitment that continue to move our County forward. Hosted in partnership with County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy, the evening brought nearly 400 guests together at Spain Wine Bar for meaningful connections and a celebration of Prince George’s County.

Our President & CEO LaTara T. Harris, County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy, and County Council Chair Krystal Oriadha welcomed guests and celebrated the partnerships advancing opportunity across the County. Governor Wes Moore also made a special appearance, sharing remarks that added to the evening’s celebration of community and collaboration.

More than a networking event, the reception was an opportunity to celebrate the relationships that strengthen our community, expand economic opportunity, and help build a brighter future for our County. From familiar faces to new connections, the evening reflected the power of coming together with a shared purpose.

The impact of these connections extends well beyond the evening. By bringing together leaders across government, business, workforce development, and the community, the reception helped strengthen the relationships that support our mission. These partnerships create opportunities to connect residents with career pathways, help employers access skilled talent, and expand the resources and programs that contribute to a thriving local economy. Every conversation and new connection represents another opportunity to build on the collective work happening throughout the County.

Take a look back at the moments that made the evening special.

Looking ahead to MACo 2027? Join us in continuing to celebrate and strengthen the partnerships that move our County forward. For future sponsorship opportunities, contact Jamie Gunnell, Director of Community Development, at JNGunnell@co.pg.md.us.

U.S. Adds a Whopping 162,000 Jobs in a Bright Spot for the Economy

The U.S. added 162,000 jobs in August, the Labor Department reported Friday, a much-stronger-than-expected result that suggested the labor market shook off its early-summer doldrums.

The unemployment rate stayed steady at 4.1%. That leaves it at a historically low level that indicates the labor market remains generally healthy.
