"Give Them Roots and Create Wings"

EPH E-News - November 2022
Happy Thanksgiving From
Crystal DeCleene, EPH
Executive Director

On behalf of the entire EPH team, I would like to wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love and gratitude. It has been an amazing year at EPH, and we are so thankful for the support of our community. You have helped provide families experiencing homelessness with a home and people to walk with them on their journey to self-sufficiency. As we look forward to the upcoming holiday, I thank God for blessing us with the resources to continue providing housing and case management for the families in need of our services.

This year, 30 families – including 84 children – will be able to enjoy Thanksgiving in their EPH home, and not have to worry about having a safe place to stay. Thank you for helping make that happen! May you each have much to be thankful for in your own lives this Thanksgiving, and God bless you.
In Gratitude
By Lisa Maas, Board President
Thanksgiving is believed to be a European tradition that was brought to America over 400 years ago to give thanks for the blessing of the harvest of the preceding year. As we approach Thanksgiving 401 years later, Thanksgiving continues to be a time for me to reflect and thank God for the many blessings he has bestowed upon me.

This year, I had the opportunity to get to know some of the ‘people’ that bring our mission to life and my heart is filled with gratitude for all of the blessings each one has brought to our EPH families and to me personally.

Thank You - EPH Team

A sincere thank you to the team that, day in and day out, works with the families we serve to help them overcome the many obstacles they face each day. Without your commitment (and grit!) over 35 families would be wondering where they will be sleeping each night.

From helping them work through mental health and financial issues (Matt, Tess, Pa, and Massiel) to making sure their homes are welcoming and safe (Chad, Josh, and Noah) to making sure we have volunteers and are being good stewards of our finances (Wendy) to leading the team to living out our values and making a difference one family at a time (Crystal), you are an amazing team and I thank God for blessing EPH with your service.
EPH Board of Directors, Unit Coordinators, and Volunteers

THANK YOU for sharing your leadership, expertise, time, and talents. We could not successfully manage and maintain 35 homes without your unconditional support of our mission. Thank you for believing in our mission and being part of our team! Thank you for the opportunity to serve with you!

May each of you have a happy Thanksgiving and feel the same gratitude for the beautiful people you are blessed with as you have blessed EPH and me.

EPH Receives a Home for Long-term Supportive Housing
Picture a cute and well-kept three-bedroom house in a quiet west-side neighborhood. Now imagine that house becoming home for a family which is ready to exit transitional housing but
is not able to secure housing due to limited income, rising rental costs, or poor credit scores. That vision is a reality due to a donation recently made to Ecumenical Partnership for Housing.

Giving Tuesday is November 29th! Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement created to unleash the power of radical generosity and encourage people to do good. The giving movement defines radical generosity as the concept that the suffering of others should be as intolerable to us as our own suffering.

If you feel called to give this Giving Tuesday, please consider picking up items from our wish list or making a financial contribution online at ephgb.org/donate.
