Greetings from European PTA!
Last May, European PTA delegates approved an addition to the
EPTA bylaws
regarding the annual requirements for Local Units to become
Units In Good Standing
with EPTA. Starting this year, all EPTA Local Unit
Presidents
,
Vice Presidents
,
Secretaries
, and
Treasurers
must submit proof of training for their board positions to European PTA within 30 days of the start of the school year
(September 25, 2018)
by completing at least
ONE
of the following items:
- Complete the relevant National PTA online eLearning course (you will need to set up a profile on the National PTA website to access these training courses):
- TREASURERS (Please note that all IRS information should be disregarded in this training, as it is not relevant to our situation as PTAs in Europe)
- Attend the relevant training course at EPTA Fall Training (This event is coming up on September 15th - please don't forget to register by September 8th!)
To receive credit for completion of the officer training requirement via eLearning
, please email a copy of the certificate that you receive upon completion of the course to the European PTA Office at
EuropeanPTA@gmail.com
(it can be a screen shot, a phone picture of your screen, a picture or scan of the printed certificate, a PDF, etc. - any image of the certificate will do).
Please be sure to include your name, Local Unit name, and your officer position in the message.
To receive credit for completion of the officer training requirement by attending Fall Training or Convention
, please email the European PTA Office at
EuropeanPTA@gmail.com
with your name, Local Unit name, your officer position, and when you attended training. We can then check the registration from the event that you attended to confirm that you were there to attend the course.
While only your officers are
required
to complete and show proof of training, we do strongly encourage your other board members to attend a training event like
Fall Training
or explore the many
eLearning courses
that are available from National PTA. There is a lot of great information available out there, and we want to be sure that you are set up for success this year!
Thank you for the great things that you're doing in your schools and communities, and please don't hesitate to reach out to us at
EuropeanPTA@gmail.com
if you have any questions about this or any of the other annual
Unit In Good Standing
requirements for your Local Unit.
Respectfully,
Kris Garst
European PTA Director of Membership and Communications
