EPTA's Special Interest Groups
The EPTA Special Interest Groups (SIGs) have been working hard to adapt to the challenges resulting from the Covid-19 crisis. Luckily, the SIGs on Leadership & Management and Managing Difficult Inmates met just before many European countries turned to lock-down. However, inability to travel has resulted in the cancellation of the second meeting of the SIG on Dynamic Security in The Hague.
Nevertheless, all three groups are making great headway with the Best Practices and Minimum Standards reports. The Best Practices reports include a wide range of good training practices from specialized induction training modules to innovative pilot projects implemented in countries across Europe. The Minimum Standards, on the other hand, provide insight into the relevant international rules and regulations and the specific requirements related to training staff on leadership and management, dynamic security and managing difficult inmates.
