Peer-led problem support scheme for prisoners and prison staff
The problem support mentor scheme was developed in the UK, involves training prison staff and prisoners to develop problem-solving skills using a six-step model to solve and cope better with problems in custody and when released in the community. Research evidence shows how the scheme reduces repeat self-harm behaviour and improves the confidence, quality of life, and self-esteem. The materials from the scheme were adapted for use in the Polish Penitentiary System with collaboration from the Academy of Justice in Warsaw, prison staff, and prisoners.

The E-learning module on Dynamic Security is now available in English
The Swiss Centre of Expertise in Prison and Probation (SCEPP) developed an interactive E-learning module on Dynamic Security. The e-learning module is freely accessible and takes about 60 minutes. It is now available in four languages (English, German, French and Italian).

This project was funded by the European Union’s Justice Programme (2014-2020).
