Director of the Samsø Energy Academy, Søren Hermansen, will be the guest speaker at the ERA Convention 2022: ‘Rental in Transition’ in Riga, Latvia, in June.

During his keynote speech 'Samsø – a circular economy community!' he will explain how Samsø, a Danish island of 3,800 inhabitants, succeeded in becoming 100% self-sufficient through renewable energy. He will also discuss the role of data in improving sustainability and the importance of communities and social sustainability.

ERA has released a video showing the main findings of the ERA Market Report 2021. Following a difficult 2020, in which the COVID-19 pandemic took Europe by surprise, there was a return to growth in 2021.

In 2022, the ERA Market Report will also be moving from a PDF document to a web-based platform. The report will be hosted on IHS Markit’s ‘Connect’ platform and will contain all the analysis and information that is currently available in the report.
ERA has now released an extended version of the Sustainable Supplier Framework, which is available on the ERA website.

The extended version gives rental companies a mechanism for assessing different levels of adherence to the Framework and opens the possibility for them to audit suppliers.
The European Rental Association has published an updated version of the ERA Casebook ‘Examples of best practice for digitisation and IT in the rental industry’.

The revised casebook features examples of best practice for digitisation and IT in the rental industry from three rental companies – Avesco Rent, Ramirent and Renta – and can be downloaded here.
ERA has published ‘A beginner’s guide to Building Information Modelling (BIM)’, providing an introduction to BIM and explaining the benefits of the technology for rental companies of all sizes.

In addition to an introduction to BIM and an explanation of the benefits for rental companies and their customers, the ERA BIM guide also provides case studies from leading rental companies that demonstrate some of the different use cases for the technology.
