ERA Sustainable Supplier Framework - a harmonised and more effective approach to supplier assessments The ERA Sustainable Supplier Framework benefits rental companies and suppliers by providing a common approach to supplier assessments, eliminating the need for repeat assessments and raising sustainability standards across the industry. The Framework provides a set of minimum requirements and aspirations for sustainability in the areas of human rights and working conditions, health and safety, responsible sourcing of components and raw materials, environmental performance, business ethics and product sustainability performance. COVID-19 survey: uneven impact on Europe's heavy machinery industry A survey of machine owners, dealers, contractors and rental companies, carried out by ERA, CECE and Lectura, has shown that the COVID-19 pandemic has had an uneven impact across different geographies, with business conditions varying from country to country. For rental companies, a majority of respondents (64%) reported a decline in business during the pandemic, with 33% reporting a decline of 30-50% or over 50%. The biggest impact was on short-term rentals and southern and western Europe were hardest hit. Read the survey results here.

EU Online Platforms Regulation The EU regulation on platform-to-business trading practices started to apply on 12 July 2020, targeting online platforms, search engines, price comparison tools and other online marketplaces.
