ERAC Q3 2018 Newsletter
President's Message
As summer ends, ERAC continues to move forward on numerous initiatives to support all of our valued Plan Participants and ERAC responders from coast to coast.

As you may know, we hold a National Training Forum every other year for our industry and contracted response teams, remedial measures advisors (RMAs) and technical advisors (TAs) to share knowledge and reward and recognize the important contribution these dangerous goods responders provide 24/7/365. The next Nationals will occur in the spring of 2019; stay tuned for date and location.

Announcements

Testing, Testing:
But Notify Us First!
We understand, and encourage, that our Plan Participants run mock drills, exercises and line tests to meet regulatory compliance. For you to get the most out of these mock scenarios, please follow the correct procedure when planning any type of testing.

Training and Events

We're heading in to our busy fall season of training and events, not least of all our conference on October 1 to 3.

In the Spotlight: BC South

The BC South Response Team is a composite team comprised of members from Superior Propane and Tyee Pacific Marine.

SafetySync and Training Course Update

ERAC has a number of procedures and codes of practice available on SafetySync; we are pleased to announce that all these documents are now available in French. From your dashboard on SafetySync, navigate to the Resource Library header under the Documentation menu, Forms & Records.

Equipment Courtesy of Dowler-Karn

This summer, Dowler-Karn donated 14 unused gas detectors and calibration stations to ERAC for our use during training and emergency events.

We appreciate the support of our Plan Participants, responders and industry partners.
Fighting Fires, Protecting Assets

ERAC and the GFL Environmental emergency response team were proud to take part in the fire protection efforts during the wildfires in Ontario, working in conjunction with CN and others.
