President's Message

I’d like to begin by thanking all our stakeholders – Plan Participant members, responders, partners and staff – for your continued commitment to ERAC during our 35th year in operation. We would not be successful without your support. Thank you.

2021 has been a year of change and accomplishment for ERAC as we continued to support our Plan Participant members, responders and other stakeholders across Canada.

Changes At ERAC

In late November, Don Merriam, ERAC’s Emergency Response Planning Manager, left the organization. Prior to joining ERAC, Don was a response team leader at Petro Canada LPG in Montreal. When he joined ERAC, Don initially worked as a remedial measures advisor, and later served as the LPG Operations Manager, Operations Director and finally Emergency Response Planning Manager. Over his seven-year tenure with ERAC, Don proved to be a valued team member and leader and was an instrumental part of the ERAC team. ERAC thanks Don for his many contributions and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.

With Don’s departure, Patrick Knight has been named Safety & Emergency Management Director and will on take the responsibility of continuing to grow our emergency response planning activities as well as all aspects of ERAC’s safety program.
