In this issue you will find information on some of the classes area high school students are enjoying, qualifications we are seeking in hiring our first Executive Director and an invitation to check out our new website! 


We are providing opportunities for students in our region, as indicated in the map above.

If you're passionate about driving workforce growth and developing innovative, skills-based training programs that meet the needs of our regional economy, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Course Spotlight

Dual Credit CDL Course

Take the first step toward earning a Commercial Driver's License.

This beginner-friendly course is designed for those with little-to-no commercial driving experience and is Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) compliant. Learn about regulations and theory behind truck driving and get a snapshot into the careers available to you as a CDL holder. The classes will provide students with everything you need to obtain an entry level driving position in the transportation industry.


To qualify for this program, you need to :

  • Be a high school senior.
  • Be at least 17 by the class start date.
  • Have and maintain a valid IL driver's license with no suspensions or revocations.
  • Pass a background screening.
  • Provide a copy of your driving record from the DMV.
  • Be fluent in English, understand traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries and keep written record.

ERCA Snapshot

Students get the benefit of a dynamic learning experience

Fall 2024 Explore Students tour the Effingham Technology Center. As progress on the building continues, students had a glimpse of where the spaces that will be used for five classrooms, two labs and a makerspace.


Based on the current project timeline, Spring 2025 courses are expected to be located at the ETC. Spring Schedule coming soon!

Students in the Introduction to Agriculture Occupations were given a hands-on demonstration by Green Creek Drones, a company that utilizes spray drones for precision agricultural applications.
