As you read this, fellow Christians are suffering deadly persecution in different parts of the world. In countries like Nigeria, Christians are being slaughtered for their faith. We should pray for our brothers and sisters suffering for Jesus to the point of death.
We should also recognize just how precious and fragile our freedoms are in this land we love.
The US constitution was designed to limit the power of government precisely to prevent the abuse of the government’s power. The separation of powers in our constitution was designed to protect us from tyranny—no one has absolute power, and there are checks and balances to every form of power. The 1st amendment focuses on the protection of God-given freedoms as follows:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Notice that there is no limitation imposed on citizens here. The restrictions are on the government. The founders and authors of the US Constitution believed that human government did not give us these freedoms, and so the government does not possess the rightful authority to take these freedoms away.
Praise God for a land that stands for freedom. We can worship publicly, we can practice our faith, and we can speak freely. God bless the USA. Thank God that this freedom has endured for 250 years. We must make every effort to preserve our Republic and the freedoms enshrined in the constitution.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6 NASB 1995)
Children are impressionable and teachable…but for a limited time. Think of freshly mixed and poured cement. You can write in it easily with your fingertip. But once the cement dries, it hardens like a rock. Then it takes more than a finger. You will need a hammer and chisel to make an impression in it.
This is like the mind of a child. During those formative years, you have an opportunity. You must teach the child God’s Word. You must instill faith in the child while the child is receptive. But in many cases, there will come a time when that once receptive child will no longer be quite so open to listen and learn.
This is why Vacation Bible School (VBS) is such an important ministry and opportunity. Our purpose is to instill faith in these precious children. Please consider serving our VBS. Please pray for our VBS. Invite all the local children in your life to attend.
VBS will be held on July 20th through July 24th (Monday - Friday) from 9:00 am to noon, for children in kinder through 6th grade. Registration is required. Use the buttons below to sign up a child(s) or volunteer to help.

We are inviting ERCC family members to participate in a day of prayer and fasting on Thursday, July 16th.
We need to continue praying for our nation, our families, our children and grandchildren, our marriages, our church family and the lost. God moves in powerful ways when His people pray and fast (Matthew 4:1-17 and Acts 13:1-3).
Let’s also pray for our spiritual growth as we participate in the upcoming seminar “Empowering Subjects”.
If you have any serious health problems, please consult your doctor before fasting. There are different ways to fast. You may decide, for instance, to give up desserts or soda for one day or longer. Or, if you are healthy, you may wish to do a water-only fast for a day or more.
Great things happened when the church fasted and prayed in the New Testament. Let’s ask God to lead us and to manifest His power as we serve Him.

Baptism Class

If you have yet to be baptized biblically, we invite you to join Pastor Wright on Sunday, July 19th at 9:00 am in the education building, 2nd floor. This is a single-session study, so please don't miss it. In this study you'll learn from Scripture that water baptism is for believers, it is by immersion, and it depicts the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If you haven’t yet experienced Biblical baptism, you need to come to this class and you need to be baptized. As Ananias said to Saul, “And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’” (Acts 22:16).
The study is intended to prepare you for water baptism.

Empowering Subjects is a seminar and follow-up Bible study and discussion series. Its purpose is to equip you to be a servant focused on growing the Kingdom of God.

We thank God for Loa. Loa has a sweet smile and a joyful heart. Even though she turns 90 next month, she has a ministry at ERCC. She is in charge of mailing the Get Well Cards to our congregants. You may have been asked to sign one of the cards for a member that just had surgery or who is suffering from an illness. It's Loa’s ministry to make sure that the cards get signed by all and then mailed.
She is also a frequent greeter in the lobby before Sunday morning services,

The theme will be “Fill My Cup” with guest speaker Peg Arnold. If planning to attend, Millie Borelli has registration forms which will be due to her with payment by Sunday, August 9th (the form cites the due date as August 17th, but Millie will need to collect the forms and payments sooner).
The cost is $50 for Saturday only which includes lunch. Cost for the entire retreat ranges from $105 to $250 per person which includes hotel and meals and is based on the number of occupants in a room (from one to four). Also, there are only two ADA rooms that are first come, first served.
Ladies can order an optional T-shirt “Fill My Cup, Romans 15:13” on the registration form as well for $17 - $30 depending on size. If ordering a T-shirt, payment will also be due at the time of registration.

| | For 30 years, Evers Road Christian Church has collaborated with Pioneer Bible Translators to translate the Bible and multiply the church in the Yalunka language community. As the church has matured among the Yalunka, they have naturally sent out mature Christians to evangelize the Susu language community, a closely related language in the capital city. Evers Road Christian Church and Pioneer Bible Translators continue to work together to see the day when there is a church in every Susu and Yalunka speaking village. | | |
Yalunka and Susu Church Planting Ministry Report and Plan 2026
Recent Achievements
Your support has been instrumental over the last three years in the education of the first fully trained Yalunka pastor in 20 years. We have created and sustained seven Scripture reading groups using the Susu language on the Coast, one of which became a church this year. Among a 99.99% Muslim ethnic group like Susu, this is a huge achievement. We have also assisted with the education of the first locally trained Yalunka medical missionary who will be going out into the northern Yalunka areas this year. We have also worked together to economically strengthen the existing Yalunka churches so that they can plant churches in the nearby villages around them. In our most recent endeavor, we helped a Susu pastor start an evangelistic radio ministry in a major city in the coastal region of Guinea. Below are the current plans for this church planting ministry in 2026 and beyond.
Faranah and Passaya Regional Church Planting
We will maintain two house churches in the western part of Faranah town while running a youth ministry in Faranah for students sent to school by the Yatiya church. Then we will send Yalunka evangelist Dansa Camara to Passaya in the northern region of Yalunka territory as a medical missionary to gather existing disciples into a strong, multiplying church.
Susu-Yalunka Church Planting in the Urban Coastal Region:
Abdoulaye and Ousman Camara help run a multi-story private school and an orphanage in Dabompa. Abdoulaye works the reading groups three days a week plus working on school and orphanage governance. Ousman works the reading groups six afternoons a week plus facilitating school construction. They take four afternoons a week to read Susu Scripture in groups. Ousman has planted a church of seventeen people in Kendoumaya east of Coyah. It may be possible to multiply that one church into several in the coming three years. The 17 church members have formed an economic partnership to overcome their economic challenges together.

Ousman and one other man spent 2 million FG in 2025 to go to a training class to learn to run a machine that makes soap. In the future, they propose the creation of a soap business.
Rural Radio Preaching Ministry in Kindia
Michel Toure will run a rural radio preaching and church planting ministry in the city of Kindia with quarterly updates through Yolie Hunter.
Strengthening the Three Main Churches
Strengthen and mature the church at Yatiya, Soulemania, and Nyaya through wealth creating development projects, annual trips to encourage and teach, and paying for the education of pastor training.
