News from Enid, Oklahoma

Greetings!

It’s time to share some good news. I am pleased to announce that despite the recent economic challenges, we have exciting business expansions happening in Enid! Over the past month, there have been 120 new jobs and over $10 million in expansion plans announced. Expansions at a time like this are important to the health of our overall economy. When manufactures expand, they not only increase job opportunities for their own employees, but jobs also increase throughout their supply chain, creating a ripple effect through other companies. While I don’t want to discount the number of businesses who are truly struggling to recover from this shut down, I am optimistic about the opportunities I see for Enid long-term. The infrastructure assets and quality of life amenities offered in Enid are more attractive than ever to businesses and people who are looking to move out of the over-crowded, expensive, and over-regulated areas of the country. The ERDA Board and our Corporate Members are developing a strategic vision to ensure Enid is ready to grow in this new economy.

Thank you to all of our Enid employers, large and small, for doing the hard work to stay in business during this pandemic. If you have questions and don’t know who to ask, please give us a call. ERDA is here to ensure that our local businesses say open, strong and growing and we want to work with you!

Sincerely,

Loyal local business clients aided homegrown staffing agency’s rise

Darren Janes literally grew up in the staffing industry. His mother Kathy Janes started TPI Staffing Service out of her home in 1989. That summer, at age 14, he served as her first employee, answering phones and interviewing applicants while she met with clients.
A graduate of Oklahoma State, Darren returned to the family business in 2006 to help grow and expand the company. It has since gone from one employee in one office to 17 full-time employees in two offices who connect thousands of workers with seasonal and permanent positions in a wide range of industries each year.
