News from Enid, Oklahoma

Greetings!

A community with a strong focus on arts and culture is a place that attracts a creative and talented workforce. Enid, Oklahoma is a community over-flowing with arts and culture. We are blessed with a strong number of artists who consistently invest their time and energy to enriching our community. Did you know, Enid now has 27 public murals with more on the way!? These beautiful pieces of public art can be found in every area of town, and demonstrate the creativity of our community. In addition to the visual arts, Enid boasts Gaslight Theater as one of the state’s oldest and most active community theaters. The Enid Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1906, continues to bring world-class musicians and music to Enid with over 10 performances each year. If you start looking, you will notice visual, performing, and musical arts on every corner of Enid.

Artists are often referred to as “makers” and there is no better “maker” than a manufacturer. Today, Friday, October 2nd, is the kickoff for Manufacturing Month. Manufacturing is one of the highest wealth generating industries in our economy. Our manufactures make products that are sold around the world and they bring that revenue back home. Today’s manufacturing is about computers, technology and engineering and in no way resembles the dirty factories we see in old movies. With the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of American manufacturing and the supply chain that supports them has been the focus of much discussion. Enid is fortunate to be home to many manufacturing companies that provide hundreds of good paying jobs to our community.

Keep being creative!

Sincerely,
