What a blessing we experienced Sunday as we opened the 11:00 service with 6 baptisms: Charleigh Mistretta, Leslie Lincoln, Ruth Fleming Brand, Madalynn Secondine, Luke Boe, and Jamie Boe! Rhys baptized 3 the prior Sunday, and there are still 4 more to be scheduled! It is so wonderful to see how God is working in our midst; not only through baptisms, but I can sense a sweet spirit in our services every time we meet. I also want to thank Bob Gunn, David Malone, Anita Kendrick, and the Celebration Choir for the special music!
Our annual Thanksgiving Supper last Wednesday evening was another example of sweet fellowship. We packed around 240 in the Fellowship Hall as we together enjoyed a great evening of fellowship and fun. The food was delicious, and the Jonah skit was so funny! As always, events like this are not possible without the dedication and work of so many. There were too many involved for me to risk leaving someone out by naming names. All deserve recognition, even though I know that is not why they serve. Allow me to just thank everyone as a group who helped with the planning, set-up, decorations, clean-up, food purchase / preparation, serving, sound, entertainment, security, and meal delivery. And, thank you to everyone who came, invited guests, and brought food and/ or monetary donations for the Christian Care Ministry Food Pantry. Afterwards, it was so exciting for me to see many of our children and youth playing various games in our new gym! God has truly blessed, and is blessing, RPBC!
The church office will be closed at noon Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so the staff can enjoy some extended time with their families. I want to encourage everyone to take some time during this Thanksgiving holiday to thank God for all of His many blessings that He has showered down upon you, and for walking with you through any difficult days you may have encountered. Remember: We are commanded to give God thanks in everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18). We may not always be able to give God thanks FOR everything, but we can always give God thanks IN everything.
I am looking forward to seeing you Sunday for another great day in the Lord’s house!
You are Loved!
