Incredible news emerging for the East Side - The Heights will have the Geothermal system after all. It was a near thing and it took coordinated advocacy and a lot of effort from East Siders, St Paul 350, City Councilmembers Nelsie Yang and Cheniqua Johnson, the Port Authority, District Energy St. Paul, and the new staff and board of MnCIFA. (Read More) And as I understand it, part of the tide turning was businesses working to locate at the Heights raising their voices in favor of figuring out a solution for Geothermal when the whole system was in question. We know that when businesses join the effort to make a way toward a better solution, new possibilities can emerge. What a benefit clean and low energy - affordable heating and cooling - will be to the future of the residents and businesses at the Heights. That's the kind of permanent investment we need more of all over the East Side.
