Escondido has a rich history which is celebrated during the Grape Day Festival, hosted by the Escondido History Center. Unfortunately, the History Center has decided to not have a festival this year. "It has the potential for being a wonderful community event, but it's going to take the community to support it," said Robin Fox, the executive director of the History Center. They hope to gain community support and rejuvinate the event for future celebrations.
Not everything has been cancelled.
Eight years ago, the Escondido Sunrise Rotary began hosting the Grape Day 5K run/walk in conjuction with the Grape Day Festival. This event alone brings thousands of people through Escondido's historic downtown district. Many businesses along Grand Ave will be open the morning of October 6th to welcome 5K participants.
The Escondido Sunrise Rotary relies on this annual event to raise funds for the foundation, which in turn supports many of our community partners through grants. The Grape Day 5K major sponsors include Palomar Health, The Palomar Foundation, MS Society and Berg Electric. The YMCA and Boys & Girls Club of Escondido are just two of the dozens of organizations that benefit from this event. All of the funds raised stay in our community!

San Diego North EDC to Host Forum
Join water agencies and businesses from throughout North San Diego County forum to discuss the impact of water policy on North County's economy and then learn about contracting and business opportunities with agencies that annually spend a combined $450 million.
Immediately following the presentations there will be an opportunity for agencies and North County firms interested in doing business with them to meet and exchange information about capabilities, contracting opportunities, requirements, key contacts and schedules of upcoming work and future RFPs.
