Well, just as we suspected, the Holidays have creeped up on us. Just embrace it. Easy for me to say as I'm not the one with multiple lists all gathered in creative ways; old sticky notes are a thing of the past, don't you know. Of course, we track everything digitally, whether that be One-Drive, GDrive or any other of literally thousands of web based list apps out there, all to make our lives easier. Isn't that nice of them?
My Holiday list is in the minor leagues when compared to others. They're buried with gift lists, food lists, party lists and don't forget little
Maria's teachers, and the list goes on and on.
Where's the list of things we are thankful for? Now that list of mine is definitely in the major leagues. I am reminded every day I wake up of all the fortune I've been given. Fortune? Yes, I've been given a fortune in blessings. My cup runeth over. How about you? We don't need an app for this. I hope your list of things you are thankful for has grown.
So here's a good segue way: please join the Chamber as we host our
9th Annual Community in Unity
event
Thursday, December 5th, at 5:31p to 8:00pm under the rotunda at City Hall. Celebrate the Christmas Holidays with samplings of food from some of Escondido's finest restaurants, enjoy some Holiday cheer, sing Christmas Carols and have some fun together as a community. What a great way to show your Escondido pride,
and I hope to see you there!
Last week's poll question and results:
Do you want to abolish day light saving time? 57% said yes, and 43% said no...go figure.
Cheers,

Supporting People and Jobs
My husband and I have owned our small retail business for over 25 years. The problems we encountered running that business were some of the primary reasons I first ran for public office. Since joining the Legislature, I have supported a wide range of legislation that would stimulate business formation and provide greater employment opportunities, more work-force training and greater job growth. Reducing burdensome regulations and needless bureaucracy also remains one of my highest priorities in Sacramento.
Earlier this year, I was honored that the National Federation of Independent Businesses recognized me as
a "Guardian of Small Business" for my work supporting California's entrepreneurs. California's small businesses employ over 7 million people, and make up over 95 percent of all businesses in this region.
Earlier this month,...
