"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible."
T. E. Lawrence
All seven of the Rising Stars we honored this month are indeed dreamers. They conquered the obstacles placed before them, and never lost sight of their personal goals. They have embraced every twist and turn, growing in character and enriching the lives of others along their journey.
With eyes wide opened, they dream....
The dreamer who will be a pediatrician is learning compassion and patience as she cares for her four year old autistic sister. The dreamer who will be a lawyer is learning how to overcome fear by challenging herself. The young man who dared to dream big as an eighth grader just signed an acceptance letter to play football for Stanford.
The foreign students who come to this country are the ultimate dreamers. Learning a new language is a feat in itself. But these students are at the top of their class and are the leaders on campus. Their dreams are being realized as they are the pivotal generation changing the future for their family.
