Excuse me if I take a minute to expose my frustration but, this password tracking is out of control. I'm knee deep in the transition to my role here at the Chamber and with this come the arduous task of changing logins, passwords and connecting with all the online tools used in our world. It's a bit frustrating. Okay it's more than that! Our connected world is amazing once all works as intended but make a login change or password update and just wait... Are you still waiting? Now try flipping from personal social media accounts and emails to a new system and software programs and keep all sharp objects outside of arms reach.
I
'm
sure you've all experienced this and probably most of you have done so seamlessly. That's not me. I'm not void of basic computer skills and readily flip flop from my Apple based devices to my PC based
programs but the amount of time it takes to change logins, set new passwords and then bone-up on
different CRM's, email accounts and the various business specific software programs we all use does
take time and patience. Meanwhile our daily workload continues. Oh and just when you think you've got
it, up pops a new update or program and you feel like your back at square one again.
Ok I get it
, time and money solve a lot of things. These are two things I have limited supplies of. Every
once in a while I have to just walk away, go outside, breath fresh air, say hello to stranger, smile at a
drive-thru attendant, open a door for someone or marvel at the beauty of a Jacarandra tree in full
bloom. Unplug. I've got to connect on a personal one-to-one level to gain back some sort of sanity. And,
here's a novel thought
:
H
ow about actually picking up a phone call instead of texting back "I can't talk
right now".
Ok, I'm done with my short rant and now back to work. I think I hear my phone ringi
ng...

June Wake Up Escondido
THIS FRIDAY
Topic: Automotive
Wake Up Escondido gives you a chance to mix, mingle and network with Chamber Members and Business Leaders as you enjoy breakfast at this dynamic monthly event. Your business will have the opportunity to highlight its achievements and services to a group of gathered professionals from various industries.
This month, Our theme is something that has become somewhat synonymous with Escondido: the automotive industry. Whether that be the many car dealerships, the multitude of auto repair and fabrication businesses, or your every day car wash. Face it - Escondidoans love their cars!
We'll be joined by a guest speaker from AAA (Automobile Club of Southern California) discussing the various ways "they're always with you", and a variety of table sponsors including E&J Metal Supply, Gosch Ford, Henson's Fix Auto, and Frontwave Credit Union.
Our breakfast will be from the one-and-only Kennedy's Meat Company, so please make plans to join us!
