Thank you to all who joined us Tuesday afternoon here at the Chamber as we held our 2nd annual  Patriotic BBQ! We definitely appreciated the support, the great BBQ and the opportunity to meet many new  faces coupled with many of our longtime supporters. A loud shout-out of thanks goes to our  sponsor Escondido Disposal, Inc. (EDI) but, the loudest shout-out goes to our Ambassador volunteers who  gave selfishly to make sure our guests were treated properly. The Ambassadors are the volunteers who  see the purpose of the Chamber and want to be a part of this organization. They value our role in the  community and are willing to give freely of their time and experience to further our mission. The  Chamber and our Board would quite simply not be able to do what we do without these dedicated,  resourceful and giving individuals. And, they're fun to be around. I cannot say enough about what their  contribution means to the Chamber.

If you're interested in becoming an Ambassador of the Chamber please go online to our website for  more information.

As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo space program's celebrated walk on the moon it's  important to remember the major achievements this Country has made. The can-do spirit of the  American people should not be underestimated. In a time of major change in America there was the  Space program which dared to think beyond the limits of our planet and accomplished what was  considered the impossible, landing a person on the moon. This week we enjoyed a particularly amazing  full moon and I couldn't help but think how appropriate and timely given that 50 years ago millions of  Americans looked to the moon with the same sense of awe at what was accomplished as I did.

The Chamber is proud of the Country, State and City we are so lucky to live in. We are Patriots. We  clearly see our missteps and work to improve each and every day to make our world a better place for  our families, friends and neighbors. We're the first to admit we have not done everything right, but we  don't give up trying to improve.
Sincerely,
James Rowten (JR)
