In a new  blog post,  ESC board chair Ashok B. Boghani shares his thoughts from a powerful April forum at The Boston Foundation,  "Our Shared Future: Charting a Path for Immigrant Advancement in a New Political Landscape."

Some of the key takeaways from the session were:
  • The foreign born accounted for all population growth in Boston 1980 to 2000
  • The foreign born hold 27% of jobs in Suffolk County
  • Foreign-born workers generated 24% of Suffolk County's economic output in 2015

Mission-Based Massachusetts is an email distribution list for people who care about nonprofit, philanthropic, educational, community-based, grassroots, socially responsible, and other mission-oriented organizations in the Bay State.

It is a moderated, flame-free email distribution list that is open to anyone who is interested in the topic and willing to adhere to the basic principles of civil discourse.

The name of the group was chosen to encourage inclusion of persons from all sectors and demographic categories, rather than just nonprofit and philanthropic professionals.

To send a message to all members of the group, simply prepare a plain text email, and send it to this address: mbm@missionbasedmassachusetts.net
