Dear Empire State Campaign for Child Care members,

It’s been an incredible start to our year! We had a wonderful and productive Advocacy Day in Albany on January 28th. Thank you to the 300+ Empire State Campaign for Child Care members who made their voices heard in meetings with over 100 legislators from across NYS. From Long Island to Buffalo, we are united in calling for a permanent state investment of $1.2 billion for the child care workforce!

2025 Child Care Staffing Shortage Survey and Press Event

We are hard at work compiling data on staffing shortages in the child care workforce so that we can couple our priorities with data from across the state. If you are struggling to meet the needs of families due to staffing shortages, tell your story in your classroom and take a picture of yourself with our printable graphics! You can find them here.

We will be holding a press event on Monday, February 24th in Albany to share the results of our child care workforce survey. We intend to make the case that there is no path to universal child care in New York State without compensation for the workforce.
