Tammara Van Ryn '85 and Chris Lincoln '85

 

"Chris Lincoln (dual '85) and I, Tammara Van Ryn (RM '85), met at ESF in 1983 and were married in 1986. We have had more than 30 years of love, laughter and adventure together. This spring for my sabbatical we went to Australia and New Zealand. We hiked over 250 miles and camped out about 40 nights. We look forward to more travel and adventures in the decades ahead."

"We got married last year on September 16, 2017 at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo! We met at Cranberry Lake during our field experience."

Gene Hogan '77 and Ruth (Gerster) Hogan '78

 

"I was working on the Troy Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest in Troy, Montana.  The next summer a male friend I had met in Troy the previous year invited a female friend he met at ESF years previous to come to Montana and work for the Supervisor's Office In Libby, Montana. Ruth Gerster and I were introduced through our mutual friend, and the rest is history. Oddly enough, we had both attended ESF at the same time, and had mutual friends, but somehow never met while there.  Lucky for us, it was fate that we would meet by chance in Montana!"

"I met a fellow ESF student as soon as I arrived in 1976.  He was already there for a year in the five-year LA program.  I was Forest Bio.  We both graduated in May 1980 and married in July of that year.  David retired this past May as the Planning Director for the Town of Smithtown, NY.  I work on a consulting basis as an environmental educator."
