Although not every business trend deserves the consideration of nonprofit executives, the emerging focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters is well worth the attention. As businesses are realizing they can do good and do well simultaneously, they're shifting towards a more sustainable and collaborative approach to philanthropy, rather than a purely transactional one. While ESG is creating unprecedented opportunities for nonprofit and corporate partnerships to flourish, nonprofits have to strategically position themselves to fit into this new landscape.

In this article, co-authors Steve Orr, Tisha Hyter and Shaby Rosales combine their decades of corporate and nonprofit experience to offer their insights on how organizations can reflect and adapt to the challenges they may face when undertaking the work of ESG.
Organizations have been making great strides to adopt and integrate DEI practices within their operations. While this represents promising progress towards a more equitable, inclusive and diverse work environment, these two components are integral to achieving such progress: pay equity and transparency. Establishing fair and just compensation policies that combat systemic inequities and discrimination is crucial to ensuring that your staff feels valued, respected and properly recognized for what they bring to the table.

Orr Group's HR expert Jessica Shatzel outlines several approaches to creating pay equity and transparency within your organization. Take a look!
