Outreach is an activity which helps us provide you with information about services that may help you. This month many people are worried about having enough food. https://www.foodpantries.org/st/connecticut This website has a list of all of the food panties in CT. Your teacher can help you find a pantry near you. You can also contact Dalia.Belliveau@vernonct.org

This section if for all ESL students. Your ESL teacher can explain this section to you. If you would like to share a picture or a website about your country, this is where you can place it for everyone to read. Maybe you want to tell others that you have something to give away or sell. Maybe you have a special birthday you want to share. It’s your section! Contact Dalia at Dalia.Belliveau@vernonct.org if you have some information that you would like to share here. Start writing and have fun sharing!

Places to Visit

Visit your local parks and notice the leaves are changing colors. Red, orange and yellow are the many colors that we see. Many parks have walking trails

You can go on your computer and find many free places to walk with your friends and family. The State of Connecticut has a website that gives you information about parks. On your computer type this web site and learn more about Connecticut! https://portal.ct.gov

Health Education

Did you know that the United States has National Health Observances? Ask your ESL teacher what observances mean. Some of the observances in October are Health Literacy Month, National Breast Cancer Awareness and Dental Hygiene. There are so many! In September it was National Food Safety month.
There is a web site about food safety that you can join to learn about food safety and virtual cooking classes. If you are interested in learning more about food safety, contact Britanny Saunier, Partnership for Food Safety Education at bsaunier@fightbac.org
If you need help finding resources, contact Dalia.Belliveau@vernonct.org
