Differences in Chemical Properties

Some fluids provide better lubricity, some fluids work

better under high temperatures, some fluids have better

fire-resistant properties, some are necessary where the

oil may come in contact with food being made &

some are preferred to limit ecological impact -

the cost of these fluid can vary dramatically.

The seals used in the hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders & hoses must be compatible with

the fluid type being used.

If the seal types are not compatible with the fluid, the seals could swell or disintegrate, undermining the overall functionality of the system.
