Planning Project Timeline Update

Multiple projects are in the adoption phase and project timelines are being adjusted. These projects include:


We anticipate the public hearings process for projects to kick off this Fall and Winter and will share opportunities to share your voice and get involved when public hearings are scheduled.

We will also soon be announcing how to sign-up for official Interested Parties lists. These lists ensure that you receive mailed notice about when public hearings are scheduled. Stay tuned!

Assistant/Associate Planner

We are seeking a positive, collaborative and inspired individual to join the City of Eugene’s land use (current/short-range) planning team to help turn our community vision into reality. This position plays a key role in promoting and implementing the community's newly adopted vision to accommodate future growth while preserving and enhancing what we love about our city.
 
The successful candidate will enjoy providing excellent customer service to the community, thrive in a team environment, and demonstrate adaptability to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
 
This position involves a wide range of work related to current planning, with an emphasis on serving as project manager in the review of development proposals, such as site reviews, land divisions, and zone changes, and implementation of the City’s land use code. Most aspects of the position will involve working closely with the public, ranging from general inquiries to facilitating meetings with development professionals, neighborhood representatives, committees and other interest groups, and other work to further our community vision of a compact, connected, livable Eugene. Community Development Finance Manager

The Finance Manager provides budget and financial management for the City of Eugene Community Development division of the Planning and Development Department. Key responsibilities include financial management of complex funding sources, ensuring compliance with grant program regulations and City financial and budgetary requirements related to various funding sources such as Federal and State grants and urban renewal/tax increment financing, and providing complex staff assistance to division managers, Executive Managers, and/or advisory committees. These funding sources are complex and politically sensitive, receive high level of scrutiny, and are instrumental in Community Development’s ability to carry out Council priorities of economic prosperity, housing affordability, and homeless services in a fast paced, dynamic, and creative environment. Plumbing Inspector

Performs field inspection as a State of Oregon-certified plumbing inspector. Inspects, evaluates, and approves plumbing installations in commercial, industrial, and residential structures and premises, including multi-family dwellings, for compliance with Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code. This includes writing field correction memos and/or letters to customers. Reviews commercial plans for compliance with Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code. Works under the supervision and direction of the Inspection Services Supervisor. Learn more and apply here.
Alert: Planning Commission Schedule Change

The Eugene Planning Commission is adjusting its schedule! The Planning Commission will no longer alternate between daytime and evening meetings. Now, the Planning Commission will meet only during the evening. Regularly scheduled meetings will be held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month with additional meetings scheduled on alternate Tuesday evenings, as needed.

Planning Commission meetings will continue to be live-streamed and, until further notice, will continue to be held virtually via Zoom. Stay tuned for more updates!

It’s important to us that community members know when someone has applied to develop their property through the land use application process. City staff are always happy to discuss a project before the formal review, and can provide information about what the formal review process will be to ensure that you have a fair opportunity to review and comment on a project.
